Engine and Transmission mounts

I found two great videos from E39 Source that really helped me make quick work of the installs.

Somehow while tightening the top nut for the right engine mount, I managed to shear off the bolt. I wasn't even turning that hard (with the torque wrench set to 40 ft-lb). My only guess is that it was a manufacturer defect. Either way, the amazing service of FCP Euro came through and they shipped out a new mount right away.

Turns out, even after all this, the old mounts (oth engine and transmission) looked much better than expected. I probably didn't even need to replace them. That said, preventative maintenance is never a bad thing on a 22+ year old car.

New ignition coils

Last year, the car was stuttering at low RPM. Since there were no codes bring thrown, it took a while to diagnose. After the car finally thew a code, we figured out it was a bad ignition coil. I replaced that one with a new Bosch OEM coil and all was good. Until recently. A couple weeks ago, it started again. This time, because the car is approaching 100k miles, I decided to replace them all. Instead of going with OEM Bosch coils, and on the recommendation of ECS Tuning, I decided to go with the new Dinan coils (at half the price). Easy install with my son.

He did one side (notice the recently replaced coil at the back)…

While I did the other…

The new ones looks shiny and new.
